Winter Nail Challenge!

I've decided to join in on the winter nail challenge that some other Aussie bloggers are doing! :) Yes it is winter right now. We're about halfway through and I really wish it was summer right now. I like winter but I can't handle three months of it! And spring doesn't get that warm until like October/November here either! :(

Anyway, if you'd like to join the winter challenge then go The Blog for Beautiful Living's blog here to see the list! :) I'm a few days behind but I thought I'd join anyway!

Here's the list for the Winter Nail Challenge!

Yesterday's theme is "blue"! I used to hate blue polish before I got addicted. I thought it was a really unnatural colour to wear on your nails so I only wore pinks and girly colours. Now I own a TON of blues so it was hard for me to choose which blue to wear out of my collection!
I did this manicure yesterday but didn't have time to post last night, so sorry it's a day late! I may post all the manicures for this challenge the day after I do them. I'd like to post them on the day I do them but I don't really have time to do that.

I ended up choosing two untrieds from my collection! :)
I did one coat of Revlon - Royal, a royal blue (as the name would suggest) jelly formula polish (sorry I didn't take a picture of it before I added the next polish!) and one thick coat of Essence - Blue Addicted which I believe is a Deborah Lippmann dupe for Across the Universe and at only $2.55AU ($1US I believe), who would buy the actual Lippmann when you can get this so much cheaper! Essence bottles are very small but you could buy a few of them and it'd still be much cheaper than the Deborah Lippmann polish. :)

Blue Addicted is a navy/dark blue base with small blue, and large green and blue glitters. It's so beautiful and reminds me of the ocean or a mermaid!
I did find the formula of Blue Addicted to be a bit thick and goopy but it may just be my bottle.
Also I've been in Target recently and when looking at the Essence display, I noticed the Blue Addicted polishes there looked a bit different to mine.. So they may have changed the formula of the polish because they definitely did with another polish of theirs, You Belong to Me. But that's a whole other story.

Sorry I didn't take the best pics of this mani. I had two coats of Seche Vite over this mani and it was very shiny and reflective so it was hard to get a good photo!

So again feel free to join in on the winter challenge! :)
I'm going to try my best to keep up with the challenge but I may not have a post up every day. I may combine a few days into one post, etc because I don't always have time to do my nails every day, especially on the weekend.

By the way, thank you so much to everyone who reads my blog. I know there's not a ton of you but it means a lot to me that even one person would want to read my blog. :)

That Blue Addicted is GORGEOUS! Where can I find it in the states? Looks like a must have!

Hey Joy! I believe Essence is available at Ulta in the US :) Hope you can find it! Buy a few bottles if you can, they're quite small but really cheap! :D

Hi, thanks for participating in the challenge. Love your blue nails! Your idea of putting royal underneath blue addicted is brilliant. I put revlon's midnight affair underneath blue addicted but it was pretty dark. I like yours better.
Hope you have had a good weekend.
