QOTW 7: Nail Polish Pet Peeves

Happy Sunday polish fiends! :)

This week's QOTW is...
What are your nail related pet peeves?

I must admit I have a lot of nail related pet peeves. :/ I get annoyed by nail related things a lot!
I won't bore you with all of them... But here are some. :P
  • Pearl or frost finish polishes. I haaaaaate them! I don't really know what it is, they just are NOT appealing to me at all.
  • The OPI Not Like the Movies style duochrome. I think I thought it was cool when I first saw it. Then I tried Essence - Where is the Party?, which is similar (darker, I think, but has a similar duochrome effect), and I absolutely hated it. It turned me off duochromes but I've found ones I like since then.
  • Dry or cut cuticles. I often see pretty manicures totally ruined by very dry cuticles and it's so disappointing! :( Just use some cuticle oil or even some regular body lotion on your hands and cuticles, okay ladies? I promise it'll make your manicure look a million times better. :)
I don't want to be too negative so I'll just leave you with those 3 pet peeves. ;) I could go on forever though...

What are your pet peeves? :)

Ugh, thank you for this post! It's nice to know that one can still share their pet peeves and not be accused of anything.
I totally agree with you on frosts and pearl and dry cuticles! I also dislike cuticles flooded with nail polish, because really, cleanup is easy and doesn't take much time, but the manicure instantly looks much neater and appealing! I've seen many blogs that do great swatches/ nail art, but i didn't follow them because of lack of cleanup. It just really puts me off.
I also hate so called duck nails, and i'm very picky when it comes to glitter polish. I don't want my nails to look like cheap New Year tinsel, lol :D
Speaking of nail shape, i prefer squoval or square, although some people can really pull off oval, but it just doesn't suit me. However, i'm sceptical about stiletto. The almond shape is very specific, to my mind, and demands a well-composed style (clothes, haircut etc.) in general.
To sum it up, i'm not telling anyone what they should do and what they shouldn't, but this is my opinion, take it or leave it.
