OPI Liquid Sand - Get Your Number and Stay The Night - Mission Untrieds #8

Another Mission Untrieds post today! :) These are just swatches but that still counts okay. :P
I'll be showing you two of the new OPI Liquid Sand polishes from the Mariah Carey collection. I think these are the only two I'll buy from the Liquid Sand part of this collection. I have my eye on one of the "normal" polishes from the collection.

First is Get Your Number. A blue jelly base with holographic glitters. I love that these polishes (but especially this one) are still sparkly even though they dry to a matte textured finish! :) I'm not sure I'd like them if they were completely matte and un-sparkly. These are made to be worn without top coat, but I think you could get them smooth with 2 or 3 coats of top coat.
This is 2 coats with no top coat.

I've already featured Stay The Night in this manicure but I thought I'd show you a full swatch. :) Stay The Night is a black base with red-ish pink glitters. This one isn't quite as sparkly as Get Your Number, but still really pretty.
This is 2 coats with no top coat.

What do you think of this new Liquid Sand finish? I've seen that a lot of other brands are now doing this too but I haven't seen any from other brands that I'd want to try.

Pink Lemonade Gradient + Tutorial! - Mission Untrieds #7

Hi guys! Today I have my 7th Mission Untrieds post! Including a tutorial! :)

Sorry this is a bit photo heavy! I had a hard time choosing and narrowing my photos down LOL.

For this look I used Orly Lemonade (which is the untried, haha), OPI Pink Friday and a sponge!

This is definitely not my best gradient... The colours didn't blend together as well as I'd have liked but I hope you like it anyway.

Here's the tutorial! Hope it helps you! :)

Liquid Glam Lacquer Swatches and Review

Hey guys! :) I have some swatches from a brand called Liquid Glam Lacquer for you today!

Sadly I'm not sure that she's still selling some of the shades I'm going to show you, they were limited edition around Christmas time I think. But I hope you'll still enjoy my swatches! :)

All photos are taken in the shade because the sun wouldn't come out! :(

This is Cinnamon Stick, a clear base with small gold and red glitters, and slightly larger (but still small) red glitters. Even though it has a clear base, it's pretty dense! I wish I'd had this one to wear around Christmas!
Swatches show 2 coats of Cinnamon Stick over OPI "Big Apple Red".

Fireworks is a clear base with small silver, magenta and blue glitters, as well as really small silver bar glitters. I really like the tiny bar glitters! I'm not a huge fan of bigger bar glitters, though I don't hate them, but these are nice!
I believe this is the only one of the polishes I'm showing you that is still available to purchase on the Liquid Glam Lacquer Etsy store.
Swatches show 1 coat over black.

And lastly, Stocking Stuffer, which is a clear base with silver hex glitters, as well as red stars and pearl-y white hearts!
This is so cute! I thought the hearts would be hard to get out but they weren't at all! Even though this is a Christmas polish, I think it'd work for Valentines Day too! Maybe if it were layered over a pink or red.
Swatches show 1 coat over silver.

Although 2 out of 3 of these aren't available anymore, I loved swatching them and I can say that all had a fantastic formula! :)

Liquid Glam Lacquer is sold on Etsy. You can also follow them on Instagram! Full size bottles are $8.25USD each, and you can get a mini for $3.50USD each! :)

On my pointer I used OPI's Number One Nemesis. It's a really cool colour! Grey-ish, silver-ish, green-ish.
On my middle finger I used Ulta3 Black Satin with some rhinestones.
On my ring finger, I used Ulta3 Lily White as my base and Ulta3 Black Satin for some polka dots.
And lastly, on my pinky I used OPI Metallic 4 Life which is a black jelly base with loads of silver glitter in it! I loooove this polish so much.

Have an awesomely awesome week everyone! :)

Giveaway! Personal Planner

Hey guys! I have something a bit different for you today! But it is a bit nail polish related I promise. ;)

I don't know about you, but I LOVE keeping organised. In high school I relied on my planner/diary so so so much to keep me organised and up to date! :) I'm not in school anymore but I still keep a planner for blog related reasons! I like to keep organised with what posts I'm going to be doing and keeping A LOT of lists with ideas for my blog and YouTube accounts!
I think having a diary or planner is a really great way to stay organised. But if you're like me, it can be hard to find a planner that you like! I like my planners to have a lot of space to write down ideas and lots of notes but I don't want it to be huge and bulky. Oh and the cover HAS to look pretty. ;)

I was really excited to be contacted by Personal Planner! It is such a cool way to have your own personalised planner! Exactly what I need! :)

Their planners provide you with endless design possibilities. You can change colour, text and design on front/back cover as well as inlay. There are also clever boxes for to-do list, gym session, preschool, idea of the week and weather. Friend’s and family member’s birthdays can also be added to the inlay directly from Facebook! They print and deliver the finished product directly to our your doorstep.
Here are a few things that I like about these planners:

- Design the front/back cover

- Tons of ways to design the inside to suit your style & needs.
- Add friends & family members birthdays to the inlay
- Choose between 4 different sizes
- You pick the start date.

To find out more, you can visit Personal Planner's website or Facebook page.

Here is the exciting and fun part...
ONE of my lucky readers will win their own free Personalised Planner from personal-planner.com.au up to $45 value!

RULES - you must do all of these to be eligible to win.
1. Must be following Lissa's Polish Addiction by Google Friend Connect (widget on right hand side of page)
2. Leave a comment telling me how you stay organised (or maybe you need to start being organised? ;))

Mission Untrieds #5: Alanna Renee - Purple Addiction + Leopard Print!

Happy Australia Day to all the awesome Aussie ladies! :) <3
Today I have a really pretty manicure to show you that was inspired by my awesome friend Teneil, also an awesome Aussie! ;) (I actually swatched her new polish line a while ago! Check that out HERE). She does fabulous leopard print and I was inspired by this manicure she did! :) I didn't have any of the polishes she used so I just improvised with a few of my untried polishes!

The gorgeous purple you see is by a new indie brand, Alanna Renee. Alanna Renee is owned by Alanna of Pretty Purple Polish (coincidentally, she's also an Aussie!)! :) She's an awesome blogger and does great swatches (and EXCELLENT macros!!!) so you should follow her if you aren't already.
She launched her brand a couple of weeks ago and I could only get two at the time, which was such a hard decision because she's got so many pretties in her shop! I'll show you the other one I bought sometime soon. :)

This is Purple Addiction. Of course Alanna has an awesome purple in her line! :P I mean her blog is called Pretty Purple Polish! ;)
Purple Addiction is a purple jelly base that has some purple shimmer in it, with purple square glitter and holographic microglitters! It's sooo pretty and sparkly!

For my accent nail, I used a base of Goddess by Sportsgirl. It's a foil-y champagne-gold. For the leopard print I used Rimmel Pompous and a nail art pen from Sportsgirl. I really recommend their nail art pens! I was actually recommended them by Teneil actually haha. They can draw really thin lines and they come with rhinestones too! ;p

Here's a gorgeous macro shot of Purple Addiction taken from Alanna's blog post. PREEEEETTY!!

I just realised that this mani includes ALL Aussie brands (and inspiration) except for one polish! :D Aaaawesome!

I'm getting much more into nail art lately! Just accent nails for now. ;)
Thanks for reading! :)

Also... some other Aussie bloggers have been doing Aussie themed nails all week for Australia Day! Here are the awesome nails if you'd like to check them out! :)

Blog Sale Update

Hey! Just a quick update to let you know I updated my blog sale. :)
There's not a whole lot on there right now but I regularly go through my collection and find polishes I no longer want so I'd recommend to follow me on Twitter if you're interested on being updated when I add new polishes to the sale.

Love Thy Polish Swatches and Review

Today I'm going to show you some polishes by Love Thy Polish! Love Thy Polish is another Aussie indie brand! Yay! Love Thy Polish is owned by Emma from Nails In The Desert! :)

I love that Love Thy Polish does minis in an 8mL size! Most mini polishes are only 5mL and to be honest you don't get very much product. These mini bottles also have a great brush unlike a lot of mini polishes.

The first polish is Touch Of Paradise. Here's what Love Thy Polish says about it...
"Touch of Paradise is a stunning deep blue jelly base with bright blue holo squares, dark blue micro glitter and teal hex."
I have to agree with that little blurb - this IS totally stunning! It reminds me of the ocean. :) Touch Of Paradise is suuuuuper sparkly! I had some VNL (visible nail line) after 3 coats but that doesn't bother me. If it does bother you though, you'll want to layer this over another blue or something.
Swatches show 3 coats of Touch Of Paradise with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Next is Peppermint Patty.
"A lovely milky pale mint green with light green and teal hexes, light blue squares and shimmery microglitter."
Peppermint Patty is so cute! I love my pastels! Sadly this one was still a bit streaky after 3 coats, but that may have been my fault.. I was a bit impatient in between coats lol. Next time I might layer it over white or another mint polish. :)
Swatches show 3 coats of Peppermint Patty with 1 coat of top coat.

And finally, we have Fairy Lights.
"Very fine holo microglitter which can be used to layer over the top of any colour to add a little bling to your mani."
Fairy Lights can be layered over ANY polish to make it look extra special. :) I love this! I actually don't own any other glitter like this in my collection so I am so happy to have it! I did a little 'skittle' sort of swatch to show you what it looks like over different colours!
Swatches show 1 coat of Fairy Lights over (L-R) random black, Maybelline "Iced Queen", Essie "Mint Candy Apple" and a random white, with 1 coat of top coat.

Shade
I love all 3 of these polishes! The formula on them is fantastic. I definitely recommend you grab yourselves some Love Thy Polish! :)

Love Thy Polishes are available in an 8mL mini size for $6AU each, or a 12mL full size $9AU each. You can buy them from their Etsy store! They ship within Australia and to the UK.

Mission Untrieds #4: OPI - Casino Royale (+ How I Paint My Nails!)

Hi guys! I have another Mission Untrieds for you today, as well as something exciting!

OPI's Casino Royale (from the Holiday 2012 Skyfall collection) is a berry-ish maroon colour.
I always enjoy maroon colours like this, but especially for autumn and winter.
The formula on this was awesome like I find most OPIs to be. In person I thought this was super opaque but in the photos you can see some bald patches and silly cuticle shrinkage. That would be from my topcoat. Sorry about that!
Photos show 2 coats, with Seche Vite topcoat.

Flash
Sunlight
Now, the more exciting part. A video on how I paint my nails! :D In this video I cover base coats, how to paint your nails without getting it all over your skin, how to clean up if you do get it on your cuticles/skin (I'm not perfect, I do too!), topcoats and cuticle oils/creams!

I hope you enjoyed the video and it helped someone out there haha. I also want to do a more in depth nail care/manicure video including pushing back the cuticles, filing, buffing etc. :) Let me know if you would be interested in seeing that in the future!
If you have any questions (or suggestions for other videos) feel free to leave me a comment on the video or here on my blog. :)

Aussie Nails Monday 21/1 - Skittles

Hey hey! :) I just wanted to start by saying thank you soo much for 100 likes on my Facebook page! So awesome! Thank you! :) I also got to 4000 followers on Instagram this week!! :D
AND, I'm almost at 200 blog followers! Which is soo exciting! I never ever thought in a million years that anybody would want to read my blog! :) I am thinking about doing a giveaway in a couple of months to celebrate and thank you, so keep your eyes peeled. ;)

Today for Aussie Nails Monday, the theme is Skittles! I think some of the ladies in the ANM group will take "Skittles" literally and do a mani inspired by the lollies. :P A "skittle manicure" is usually when you do a different colour on each nail. Or the same colour on each nail, but a different nail art design on each nail. I don't think there's really any "rules" when it comes to skittle manicures ... I hope. Hehe.
I did more of a mix and match manicure than skittles but I hope it still counts. I just don't feel right wearing a completely different colour on each nail haha. So I did something using 3 colours. I wanted it to all tie in together.

On my pointer and middle nails I'm wearing OPI Stay The Night from the Mariah Carey collection. This is one of the new Liquid Sand polishes! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the Liquid Sands but I think they are so cool!
Stay The Night is a black base with black and pink-ish red glitter. And as the name "Liquid Sand" would suggest, it dries to a sand-ish looking finish. But it's not overly rough or scratchy like I thought it might be. The texture does make me shiver a bit to touch though lol!

On my pinky and thumb I am wearing a berry-ish pink colour by Rubi Shoes (by Cotton On) called It's Getting Hot In Here and I added a little black rhinestone at the cuticle. :) This is the closest colour in my collection to the glitters in Stay The Night, so it doesn't exactly match.

On my ring finger, I did some stamping! I used my favourite white, Ulta3 Lily White as my base and then I used the lips design on stamping plate QA28 that I bought from Born Pretty Store and a random black polish.

And here is a close up of what Stay The Night looks like! I think it looks so awesome! The red glitters still sparkle a lot even though the overall look is matte.

This is something so out of my comfort zone but I love it so much! I want to try more mix and match nails!

Check out the other awesome Aussie Nails Monday ladies! :)
