Femme Fatale - Eventide

Hey guys! So my last few posts have just been swatches but today I'm going to show you a recent NOTD. :) I did cut my nails off shorter and I was planning on not showing you them for a couple weeks until they grew out a bit but I fell in love with this polish I have to show you today.
In this post I'll show you pics taken in the light box as well as outside. I've only been using my light box lately but this polish looks amazing outside so I had to include some outdoor photos :) It might be a bit pic heavy so brace yourself! ;)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Eventide
Now since I cannot for the life of me describe this beauty, I took the description from Femme Fatale.
"Eventide is a blend of delicate but complimentary shades – lime gold, rose, fuchsia flecks, gold, holo, sea green and moss, all in a clear base"
See, I would've sucked at describing it. I would've just said gold and pink glitter. :P
I layered 2 dabbed coats of Eventide over OPI Just Spotted The Lizard and 2 coats of top coat to smooth it out.

This combo was definitely BLING BLING on my nails HA! :P I love the huge square glitters in this gorgeous polish. ♥
Do you own any Femme Fatale polishes?! If so, which ones? I think they're incredible!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, ladies. :)

OPI - Sprung

Hello me lovelies! :) Hope you're having a great weekend!
I have a polish to show you from the OPI Mariah Carey collection. This is the only one I picked up other than the Liquid Sand shades. The other "normal" colours were either too grandma-looking (sorry to all the Grandmas out there...) or I had something too similar.
Ps. Sorry that my "pose" is really weird in these photos... I find OPI bottles so awkward to hold in photos and I'm trying to find a "pose" that is comfortable but still looks normal in photos. Lol I know, how sad that I think so much into it :P

Anyway, this is SprungSprung is a glass fleck finish with a bit of a duochrome to it. It's sort of copper-y, but also rose gold because there's definitely some pink in it.
It's really pretty! I think I'd prefer to wear it more in autumn, though. It seems more of an autumn colour to me. Haha. (Although it's supposed to be autumn now... Hurry up cooler weather!) I'll definitely be sporting this more in the colder months, plus more shades like it! :)
Sprung in the bottle - wish it showed up this duochrome-ish on the nail!

Did you pick up any of the OPI Mariah Carey collection? :D

Stamped Gradient Using OPI Euro Centrale Colours + QA28

Hey guys! Today I have a mani to show you that I did using my new OPI Euro Centrale mini set. :D
I skipped Aussie Nails Monday this week because I had a super busy weekend and then I just couldn't be bothered doing the theme this week LOL.

For the base colour I used You're Such a Budapest, which is a light periwinkle-ish purple. It's super pretty! :) It has a little teeny bit of a shimmer in it but it's not very noticeable at all! I did 3 coats of YSAB.
Then I used Can't Find My Czechbook with YSAB to create the gradient. I have a gradient tutorial video HERE if you are interested. :) This is a light sky blue colour.
Over the gradient on my ring finger I used Gloss n Sparkle "Cotinga" :) I've been looking for the perfect polish to use this with for AGES and I think it works over both these colours! :D Unfortunately I don't think Gloss n Sparkle sells this one anymore. :( I did get it probably about 6 months ago, though.

I then stamped over the gradient using plate QA28 from Born Pretty Store with Sinful Colors Snow Me White. :) How cute are the moustaches! :D I think the Born Pretty plates work great for the price! They're only around $3 each!

UMM LOOK AT THOSE GLITTERSSSSS!
Kinda fell in love with this photo ^_^
Bonus bottle shot of Gloss n Sparkle "Cotinga"
What do you think?! :D I love the moustache stamp, it's so funny and cute haha!

My Birthday Manicure ♥ OPI - Absolutely Alice

Hey guys! :D Guess what! Today is my 20th birthday! ^_^ Thank you to those who have sent me messages and stuff like that! ♥ Love you guys!
Being my birthday, I wanted to wear something special and sparkly on my nails! :) I think this polish is totally perfect for that! I can't think of a better occasion to pull this beauty out of my untried basket.

This will be a bit more pic heavy than my posts usually are - because this polish is just beeeeeautiful! :D

OPI Absolutely Alice

If you follow polish collections, HTFs (hard to find) etc, then you'll definitely know this polish! I'm so lucky to even own this polish, let alone get it for the price I did ;) No I won't tell you how much lol!
Absolutely Alice is from the Alice In Wonderland collection from 2010, which is very hard to find now and sells for insane amounts on eBay.
It's a clear base with blue and gold glitters. I believe this collection came out when OPI started stepping out of the box and releasing beauties like this one!
Absolutely Alice is SUPER dense for a glitter and I only needed 2 coats! It also dries to quite a smooth finish for a glitter like this. It was fine with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat, but I added another just to be sure. :)

If you want something similar to this but way cheaper (in Australia), BYS has a colour called "Through The Looking Glass", and it's pretty similar to Absolutely Alice, though it's a lot less dense. You could just layer it over a base colour, though. :) You can probably find it at Gloss stores.

Close up ♥

LOOK AT THOSE GLITTAHS!
Thank you again to all the lovely ladies who wished me a happy birthday! ♥ I love you guys!
Thanks for reading :)

Aussie Nails Monday 25/2 - Favourite Brand

Hey guys :D I hope you had a great, relaxed, fun weekend!
Today is Monday again which means ... Aussie Nails Monday ... and that my birthday is tomorrow! :D
Today the theme is Favourite Brand. Nice and broad :D

I haven't been feeling like doing nail art lately so I hope you don't mind! I'll be showing you swatches of some polishes from a few of my favourite brands :) (All swatches are without top coat just FYI)
I haven't included any indie brands in this because I think I've shown you every polish I own from my favourite indie brands. Haha. But just putting it out there - I LOVE INDIES TOO ♥

Sorry about the slightly awkward hand pose in these photos... I was having "one of those days" where I just hated my photos and the 'pose' hahah!

OPI DS Original
OPI would probably be my #1 favourite brand. I love the formula on every OPI I've tried and I love the brush too. I think OPI polishes were what got me obsessed!
DS Original is probably the most HTF (hard to find) and most popular of the Designer Series collection by OPI. It's discontinued now and sells for ridiculous amounts on eBay! I'm so lucky to have got it for the price I did! x)
DS Original is a beeeautiful light purple holographic. It has a more scattered than linear holo effect, but it still isn't completely scattered. It looks more linear in the bottle, though. It's a bit sheer so my swatch shows 3 coats but it probably could use a 4th... I've seen others layer this over medium toned purples to get an opaque look without using up the whole bottle ;)

China Glaze Riveting
China Glaze is definitely up there in my favourite brands. I have slightly less CGs than OPIs but the CG number is slowly climbing! I'm starting to like them more because I find them to be much cheaper than OPI and easier to find for me. China Glaze also has more unique colours in my opinion. They also have a fabulous formula on every one of their polishes I've tried :)
Riveting is from the Hunger Games collection from 2012. It's a bright, hot orange with a golden and orange glass fleck shimmer. I think this may be the only orange that I actually think I like :D
The formula on this is fab as usual ^_^ And my swatch shows 2 coats of Riveting.

Essence Grey-t To Be Here
Essence is my favourite "drugstore"/cheaper brand. If you've been a reader of my blog for a while then you probably already know this. :) I have a LOT of Essence polishes and I will continue to buy them :D They have a GREAT colour selection for such a cheap brand and their limited edition stuff never disappoints :) I also enjoy their makeup but that's not what I'm here to talk about hehe ;) When the new packaging of the Essence core line polishes came out, I went CRAZY for them and was so excited to grab some... And then I only wore one or two and the rest have been sitting in my untried basket. Woops ;)
Grey-t To Be Here is a grey, as the name would suggest. It has a beautiful pink/orange shimmer in it too! Reeeally pretty! The swatch shows 2 coats :)

Check out the Aussie Nails Monday tab to check out some of the other lovely Aussie Nails girls :D
Have a great week guys :) ♥

Spoiled - Ants In My Pants

Hi guys! :) Today I'm gonna show you my mani I wore on the weekend.
This is Spoiled (by Wet n Wild) Ants In My Pants over OPI Lincoln Park After Dark.
I actually did my nails with just Lincoln Park After Dark first, but after having it on for 10 minutes it felt boring LOL. Ants In My Pants caught my eye so I put it on top. :)

Ants In My Pants is red glitter in two sizes in a black jelly base. The base looks pretty sheer but you can build it up on its own if you want to. This polish is similar to Deborah Lippmann's Ruby Red Slippers but waaaay cheaper, haha.

I'm sure everybody knows OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, right?! It's a super dark purple that is like 1 shade off of being black, lol! You can't even tell it's purple unless you're in bright light! I never felt the need to own this polish (because it's basically black!) but I bought it a couple months ago because it came in a duo pack, so I thought why not. Haha. I don't love it but meh. It's a classic colour.

I feel so weird wearing a dark combo when it's so hot outside right now! I usually stay WAY away from dark colours in summer. But in winter I'll wear anything..? I'm so weird. LOL.

Hope you enjoy! :)

Aussie Nails Monday 11/2 - Food + Tutorial!

Hi guys! Happy Monday, even though it's almost over haha. Hope you had a nice weekend! I definitely did, it was awesome! :)
Today's Aussie Nails Monday is FOOD! :D I was so excited for this theme haha!

I did cupcake nails! :) I've done something really similar to this before but I don't think I blogged it.
Who doesn't love cupcakes?! I know I do! :D My fave cupcakes are RED VELVET, mmmmm! :)

Polishes used:
OPI Pink Friday
OPI Strawberry Margarita
I also used striping tape, white acrylic paint, heart rhinestones, a dotting tool and Seche Vite fast drying top coat!

Not sure if you can see it, but when editing the photos I saw that some of my fingers had some weird black smudges on them. :/ May have been some dirt from the lamp when I touched it. So, sorry about that. Haha.

Here's the video tutorial for these cute cupcake nails! :)

Check out my AUSSIE NAILS MONDAY page to see the other ladies' food manis! :)

OPI - Red Lights Ahead...Where? + stamping with QA18 - Mission Untrieds #15

I wasn't planning on sharing my weekend manicure on here because it was just a plain red (and I only have a mini bottle of this polish I didn't feel like photographing it LOL), but then I added some stamping for Saturday night so I decided I'd show it! :D

Let me tell you to start off - I'm still new to stamping. I should practice more lol. I had to redo each nail twice I think but it wasn't too bad compared to other times haha.
My base colour is OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where? and I did the stamping using Ulta3 Lily White and stamping plate QA18 which I bought from Born Pretty Store.
I've worn Red Lights Ahead...Where? before but it was aaaaaages ago, almost a year ago actually, when I first got into polish! :) It was one of my first OPIs!

Everyone says that Ulta3 Lily White is great for stamping but it doesn't seem to work for me. :( Maybe I don't stamp hard enough or something? But when I transfer the polish from the stamp to my nail, half of it is still on the stamp (which is why it looks so faint on my nail lol). o.O
Do you have any tips for me, or recommendations for good stamping polishes?! :) I'm getting more into nail art lately and I really want to get more into stamping because it's so cute and there are some ADORABLE plates out there! Plus I'd imagine it's much easier when you get the hang of it and then you'd be able to do it super quickly! :)

Btw - how cute would this design be for Valentine's Day?! Even the other way around too, red stamping on a white base. That would be sooo cute! Maybe I'll try it next time! ^_^

January Favourites! ♡

Hey guys! January is over now but I had an idea the other day! I thought it could be fun to share the things I'm loving (not just polish related ;)) at the end of each month! I really love seeing monthly favourites posts on other blogs and videos on YouTube too! :)
I will be including my favourite polishes/nail art looks of the month, favourite blogs of the month, favourite food, TV shows, movies, and more! :D

I'll start with polish because I know that's what most of you want to see. ;)

Nail Polish
This month I totally fell in love with Shades Of Phoenix polishes! :) I did glitter gradient tips using Love From The Gods, a Valentines polish by SoP and LOVED it. You can check that out HERE if you missed it. And you can see the rest of my Shades of Phoenix swatches HERE.

I'm also super intriuged by the new OPI Liquid Sand polishes! They're really cool. I swatched and reviewed two of them HERE.

Nail Art
I have a few favourite nail art looks this month! I really got into more nail art this month! :)
I have to start with what I think is my most popular nail art ever! :D This nail art was inspired by the lovely Brie! My photo was been reposted on Instagram a ton (not always with credit... but that's another story) and lots of ladies have recreated it too! :) You can see the post HERE.

The next one would have to be this yellow to pink gradient I did! I did a video tutorial to go along with it and it got some nice feedback so thanks for that! :) I've seen a few girls try it out with the tutorial so I'm really happy I was able to help someone with it! :D You can see the post and tutorial HERE.

Nail Care Products
Towards the beginning of the month I was on the hunt for a new hand cream because the hot weather was making my hands super dry! I've tried a few new ones but the one that stood out to me is the Soap And Glory Hand Food! I've heard some awesome things about this hand cream - mostly about the scent! Haha. I suck at describing scents but it says on it that it smells like marshmallows and macadamia oil. It's so moisturising and leaves my hands looking, feeling and smelling lovely. It's not too heavy and absorbs quickly too.
I bought mine on eBay HERE. but I believe they can also be found at *some* Myers (not mine, sadly), Mecca Cosmetica and Kit Cosmetics in Australia.
I really want to try some more Soap And Glory products!
Source

TV Show
I'm not a huge TV show watcher lately.. I haven't caught up on any of my favourites for over a year now! :/
But towards the end of January I got back into Gossip Girl! I used to really love it, I have 4 seasons on DVD but I kind of got bored of it and stopped watching a bit after season 5 started. But I ended up watching the whole of season 5 in two days and then season 6 in another two days! I got a bit addicted haha! I'm so sad that Gossip Girl is over forever but I really loved the ending. :)

Drink
If you know a lot about me... You'd know that my most favourite drink ever is Coke. I drink it all. the. time. Buuuut I know it's not good for me obviously so I've been trying to drink less of it and I've been drinking Coke Zero instead. Obviously still not very good for me but better than regular Coke right?! I used to HATE Coke Zero and think it tasted so horrible lol but I'm getting used to it slowly haha.

Blog / Blogger
My favourite blogs for January would have to be:
ThePolishOwl! I recently started following Radha's blog, Twitter and Instagram! I love reading her tweets, she's so fun! Haha I love hearing her opinions about all sorts and brands of polish too. :) Especially Lynnderella. She definitely makes me want some Lynnderella in my life haha.
Dressed Up Nails. I absolutely loveeeee Dressed Up Nails! She does some phenomenal nail art and her nails are too cute! I really suggest you check out her blog! You can follow her on Instagram too.

I'm really excited about this! :) I hope you enjoyed my first ever favourites post! Also, let me know of any categories you want me to include in my favourites posts! :) I may include makeup every now and then but I only wear makeup once or twice a week so I don't try out new products too often.
Make sure to leave me a comment if you do monthly favourites posts so I can check it out! Or just let me know some of your fave things of the month in a comment! That'd be cool to know what you guys are loving too :)

OPI Liquid Sand - Get Your Number and Stay The Night - Mission Untrieds #8

Another Mission Untrieds post today! :) These are just swatches but that still counts okay. :P
I'll be showing you two of the new OPI Liquid Sand polishes from the Mariah Carey collection. I think these are the only two I'll buy from the Liquid Sand part of this collection. I have my eye on one of the "normal" polishes from the collection.

First is Get Your Number. A blue jelly base with holographic glitters. I love that these polishes (but especially this one) are still sparkly even though they dry to a matte textured finish! :) I'm not sure I'd like them if they were completely matte and un-sparkly. These are made to be worn without top coat, but I think you could get them smooth with 2 or 3 coats of top coat.
This is 2 coats with no top coat.

I've already featured Stay The Night in this manicure but I thought I'd show you a full swatch. :) Stay The Night is a black base with red-ish pink glitters. This one isn't quite as sparkly as Get Your Number, but still really pretty.
This is 2 coats with no top coat.

What do you think of this new Liquid Sand finish? I've seen that a lot of other brands are now doing this too but I haven't seen any from other brands that I'd want to try.
