Jasmine - Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge - Day 1

Hey guys! I'm really excited about today's post! Bec from LacquerDreams created a Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge and when I saw it, I was like HECK YEAH. I'm a big Disney fan :D Most of my friends definitely know this about me! My mum even gave me a Tinkerbell card for my 20th birthday this year. ;)
(Jasmine PSD Source)
Let me just say - I hate the Urban Outfitters bottles. They are SO awkward for photos...

So today's theme is Jasmine, from Aladdin! I have to admit I don't remember being a big fan of Aladdin when I was little. I actually don't remember watching it more than once...

As soon as I saw that today's theme was Jasmine, I remembered I had seen this mani by Yvonne / Lafemmelulu on Instagram, a few months ago and it TOTALLY reminds me of Jasmine! So I decided to do something similar to this :)

For this nail art I used Urban Outfitters Sea Dust and China Glaze Passion, with a coat of Essence Sweet As Candy as my base. I started off using striping tape to try and get cleaner lines but gave up because I couldn't be bothered waiting for the layers to dry, honestly. :P
I hope you're looking forward to the rest of this challenge - I sure am! :D It also makes me want to re-watch all of these Disney movies! I might need to for inspiration for some of them! Hehe.

Also - don't forget to follow me on BlogLovin' if you haven't already! Check out yesterday's post on Google Reader getting the boot and other ways you can follow me. :)
Hope you're having a fantastic weekend! ♥
Please check out the other awesome ladies participating in this challenge ♥

Aussie Christmas 13/12 - BBQ

I am so sorry to the ladies who joined this challenge. I don't know what was going through my head when I created some of these themes. LOL. Well, it was 1am when I was coming up with them so that might explain it. Even I, the person who came up with these themes, couldn't come up with a design when it came around to this point in the challenge. :( SORRY.

So, of course being summer time now in Australia, we have a lot of BBQs! :) Lots of people have a big barbeque with their family on Christmas Day, but my family actually doesn't do a barbeque on Christmas Day, we usually do a roast lunch/dinner like most people would probably do in the US, being winter, but I absolutely loooooooove my roast Christmas dinner. :D My family has a lot of barbeques in summer time though, where we "chuck some snags and shrimp on the barbie".... LOL. Just a note for all of you non-Aussies: we don't say "shrimp on the barbie", OK?! :P I've never heard someone seriously say that in my whole life. We call them prawns, not shrimp. LOL.

So because I couldn't come up with an easy-to-do barbeque nail art design, I decided to try and franken the perfect barbeque sauce colour! I've heard that OPI's Mrs O Leary's BBQ is a great barbeque sauce colour but I don't own it.
Polishes I used:
Ulta3 Mulberry, Flashback Fuchsia, Bo Peep, and Black Satin, and Essence Fateful Desire as well as a little bit of clear topcoat.

I don't know how close I got to Mrs O Leary's BBQ, but I still like the colour! lol. I tried to make it as brown as possible but if you can believe it, I don't own a warm brown polish that isn't a shimmer or something. :O I fell in love with this franken I made! I will totally wear it again!

Aussie Christmas - 5/12 Pool Party

20 days til Christmas! :D WOO! Who else loves this time of year as much as me?!

Today for the Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge, the theme is pool party! Christmas and summer time in Australia usually involves going to the pool, or going out in your backyard if you're lucky enough to have a pool! Or running under sprinklers, which is what I did when I was a kid lol. I've never had my own pool but always wanted one and have always loved swimming at the pool. I'm not a massive fan of the beach, it's alright, but I prefer the pool!

My nail art today is inspired by my board shorts! I was going to use my tankini as inspiration but they're just blue, red and white, like the Aussie flag and I've already done Aussie flag nails before! ;) My boardies are a sunset sort of print, with palm trees all over.

My boardies
I used a base of Ulta3 Lily White, my favourite white. It's almost opaque in one coat! Perfecto. :P
I then did a gradient using Cotton On Body's Neon Orchid, Essie Fear or Desire and Ulta3 Frangipani. The technique I use for gradients can be seen in this tutorial by MissJenFabulous on YouTube. I drew a palm tree on my ring finger using my black BYS nail art striper (which I actually just dropped on the concrete outside and I'm surprised it didn't smash).

This is easily the most vibrant nail art I have ever done, haha! I love it!

Aussie Christmas - 3/12 Six White Boomers

Today's Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge is a bit of a fail. I thought it was clever as a theme but then I actually thought about it and I was like ... wait how am I supposed to do that on my nails!??! LOL.
I'm so sorry to all the ladies doing the challenge because it's so difficult hahaha.
If you don't know what a 'boomer' is, it's slang for a kangaroo, I guess. Haha. And Six White Boomers is a song by Rolf Harris.
Videos here (Blogger won't let me embed a video for some reason) if you're interested: YouTube Search: Six White Boomers.
If you're not Aussie (or maybe even if you are) you'll probably think it's really strange. :P I guess we can be a strange bunch.

This is the picture I used for inspiration.
... No, it didn't turn out much like my inspiration. LOL.

I did two coats of China Glaze Dorothy Who for my base. It's a freakin' beautiful blue jelly with blue and silver microglitters.
Then I painted six white... boomers (more like blobs!) and Santa in a sleigh, and some stars on my pinky.

Hahahahaha I think it looks ridiculous. Don't judge.
I promise my nails for the other days will be better. :P

Aussie Christmas - 1/12 Red

Hey guys! Happy December! :D

Today is the first day of the Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge! Woohoo! I had hoped to get it up on here earlier today but I was busy all afternoon!

I wanted to create this challenge because the other challenges out there are all related to winter and it's definitely not winter here haha! We don't really celebrate Christmas that much different than people in other countries though. It's just hot here! I'd love to experience a cold Christmas someday but I really love my summer Christmas. :D

So the theme for today is red. I chose to keep at least a few of the days in this challenge a bit vague so you could go for some really intricate nail art, or something more simple like what I chose to do today. :)

Today's nail art, if you can even call it that, is one of those that is gonna be pretty simple because I didn't have a lot of time to think about it haha.

I started with a base of Ulta3 Antique Copper. It's a frosty metallic coppery gold with what looks like orange microglitter/flecks.
I then used Ulta3 Black Plum and freehanded the half moon. This is why it doesn't look exactly the same on each nail. :P I don't have any of those circle stickers that everyone uses to create this look. I realise that it's not exactly 'red'... It looked more red in the bottle I swear. It's a deep purple-ish red with a whole lotta shimmer!
I wasn't super happy with the way this looked, because they were a little messy. So I put a little bit of Milani Jewel FX in Gold on a piece of paper and used a dotting tool to place the glitters on my nail which sort of covers up the unevenness. :)

This was relatively easy to create and I'd love to try this again with some different colours! :) If you have any suggestions for colour combinations let me know! I'll probably try to pick up some circle stickers I can do this a bit better next time.

This is Halloween: 31/10 Recreate Your Fave

Happy Halloween! :)
I've said it before but I don't celebrate Halloween (I think 90% of Aussies don't, really, but it's becoming more popular each year), though I am into all of the cute Halloween novelties and especially Halloween polishes!

For the last day of the This is Halloween challenge, we're supposed to recreate our favourite from another blogger (or just anyone) who participated in the challenge! :)

I decided to recreate Plisherrific's super cute Bat nail art! :D (She got her idea from Nail Craze with Dayze)
I thought it was SO cute so I had to recreate it. I'm so into cute designs like this rather than anything gory or spooky.

For my base colour I used Essie Fear or Desire (I used up about half of my mini bottle during this challenge!) and then added Essie Shine of the Times. For the bats I used my BYS Black striper, and my BYS White striper (which I really need to replace, it's very gummy and stringy). I also used Ulta3 Black Satin and Lily White for the eyes. :)

Damn the smudged pinky finger. :(

Hope you've enjoyed the This is Halloween Challenge! I had so much fun doing it! Thanks Bec for starting this challenge, I think everyone loved it just as much as me. :)

This is Halloween: 29/10 Graveyard

This is the second last day of the This is Halloween Challenge! :( How sad! Today's theme is Graveyard, and I did a pretty simple and predictable mani, hehe.

Tombstones, of course!

For the actual tombstone, I freehand-ed it with the regular polish brush and I used BYS Matte Grey (sorry about the messy bottle lol). Then Essie Mojito Madness for the grass. I wrote 'RIP' on each tombstone with a BYS Black striper. I topped it all off with Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat.

SUPER simple and easy nail art! :)

Tomorrow is the LAST day of the Halloween challenge! :( I'm gonna be stuck for post ideas! Hahah, let me know if you have any requests!

This is Halloween: 26/10 Witches

Hello ladies! TGIF! ;)

I kinda took the easy way out for today's This is Halloween challenge... >:)

This is Witches Britches, a limited edition for Halloween polish by Gloss n Sparkle! :) Now obviously, I chose it for today because of the name!

Witches Britches is a purple base with large and medium orange, large, medium and small green, and large, medium and small black hex glitters! I think some of the smaller glitters are squares too. :)
I have two cameras and they BOTH suck at photographing colours like this! :( It always makes them look too blue. I edited it to look more acurate as much as I could but it's not 100% accurate.

I've been SO into Halloween polishes like this lately so I just HAD to buy this when I ordered from Gloss n Sparkle! But even though I've been really into Halloween indies, I actually only bought two. I'd have loved more but since I'll only ever wear Halloween colours in October, I didn't think it was worth buying every Halloween polish I set my eyes on. ;)

Only three more days left of the This is Halloween Challenge! :( I won't know what to do with myself when it's over! I'll have to get my act together with some things to post next month! I've acquired a lot of polish lately so I'm sure I won't have a shortage of stuff to swatch for you. ;)

This is Halloween: 12/10 Jack o Lanterns

Hey lovely ladies!

I want to apologise for my previous mani I put up for this challenge. It was far from my best work! I'm trying to do my manis for the challenge at least a few days in advance so that in case my idea doesn't work out, I have time to retry it. :)

Today's theme is Jack o Lanterns! I wish people carved/decorated pumpkins here. It looks like fun! Okay, I wish we celebrated Halloween properly here to begin with!

For this mani I used Essie - Fear or Desire (told you that you'd be seeing this polish a lot in the challenge! I reckon by the time it's over, I'll have used up the whole mini bottle!) and a black BYS striper, which I am in need of replacing because it's becoming a bit stringy and thick! They're great stripers but they're kinda pricey at $5 each from Gloss.

I chose to do my Jack o Lantern only on my ring finger, and I did black french tips on all other nails. :) I wanted to make my Jack o Lantern more of a cute/happy looking one. Didn't really work. LOL.

I tested out my mum's camera for these photos. Not sure if I like it better than my camera. My camera seems to make all of my photos look very dark, even when I take them outside (unless I'm in the sun - and there hasn't been any of that for the last few days!). I made a small light box the other day which is what I used to take these photos. Please bare with me while I try and figure out a good lighting/camera situation! I'm not a fan of the glare on these photos. :(

Hope you enjoyed! I have some exciting stuff coming up soon so stay tuned! I also have a lot of polish on its way to me in the next couple weeks. ;) Make sure to follow me via GFC, BlogLovin or email (whichever you prefer), so you can stay updated if you wish! :)

This is Halloween: 8/10 Ghosts

Hey there ghoul-friends. ;) HAHA. So lame, sorry.
How are you all? Hope you had/are having a great weekend, depending on where you live! I'm basically all better from my sickness now! Still coughing a bit but I feel soooo much better!

Today's mani is the third for the This is Halloween challenge! :) The theme is "ghosts".
I have to tell you that this mani was a fail, again. :( Because I am so impatient I smudged EVERY nail with my top coat. I hope you can look past the smudges. x) Wish I'd had time to redo this mani but I didn't. :(
Please also excuse the messy cuticles. Since I was so unimpressed with the mani, I completely forgot to do cleanup. I promise my next manis will not be so much of a fail!

PACMAN! x)

Polishes used in this mani:
Funky Fingers - 220 Volts
Essie - Off the Shoulder
Essie - Fear or Desire
Butter London - Pillar Box Red

I also used white and black acrylic paints.

Hope you enjoyed and are looking forward to seeing the rest of this challenge! Visit Bec @ Lacquer Dreams' blog if you're interested in joining in.

This is Halloween: Oct. 5 - Water Marble

Hi girls! :)
I'm so excited for today's post. And you may be thinking how can she be excited about water marble after her last attempt!? Well, I'm excited because...

IT WORKED THIS TIME.

Yep, that's right! ;) It worked for me! I had NO problems whatsoever this time! How very exciting. :)
I have a few suspicions as to why it worked well this time.
1. I used a bottle of (filtered) water that I'd had sitting in my room for about a day so it was definitely room temperature this time.
2. I used a larger cup than last time, where I used a disposable shot glass.

I think those things helped me to get a better water marble. Last time I tried this (you can see that HERE - but believe me, it's not pretty :P) the polish wouldn't spread and I think this was because I used non-room-temperature water. :P
A larger cup than I used last time definitely helped too. I'd say to use just a regular cup size. I thought a shot glass would be good because it was small, and since it was disposable I could just chuck it out instead of ruining a cup. But that didn't work because it made it extremely hard to clean up the extra polish in the water before bringing my finger out.

I would definitely recommend watching SimpleLittlePleasures on YouTube because she has AMAZING tutorials. Also, my friend Aubrey from Instagram has an awesome tutorial on her blog here which is also super helpful! Her water marbles are gorgeous! :D

So anyway, onto my water marble. :)

I used Essie - Fear or Desire, which you'll be seeing this a LOT during this month, it's my only true orange in my collection! I really should pick up some more... Let me know if you have any affordable recommendations! I'd like to buy some more oranges but since I will only probably wear them in October around Halloween, I don't want to spend a lot on them. :P and I also used NYC - Night which is my go-to black (other than Ulta3 - Black Satin, which is a bit too fast drying for a water marble!).

I'm so proud of the way this turned out! :) Even though the black didn't turn out very dark on my ring and pinkie, and my middle finger turned out a little funny, that doesn't bother me because it worked much better than my last attempt. :D

The This is Halloween Challenge is super fun so far! :)

This is Halloween: Oct. 1 - Horror Movies

Hello lovelies! So unfortunately I have had to skip the last two days of the 31 Day Challenge. :( My sickness just keeps getting worse and worse and I have very little energy. But I didn't want to miss out on the first day of the This is Halloween challenge! I had something else planned but I went with something simple instead. I should be fine by the next day of the challenge, which is Friday. :)

So I'm not a fan of Horror Movies. I hate them actually. I refuse to watch them. I'll do anything to get out of watching them! So obviously I wasn't going to put something yucky and scary on my nails. :P
I saw a tutorial by Missjenfabulous this morning on YouTube for a haunted house mani. Very simple and not scary. :D Some horror movies have haunted houses in them, right? :P

For the base I used a Rubi (Cotton On) polish called Violets are Blue. I imagine this colour is probably similar to Essie - Play Date but a little less bright. I've gotta say, the formula on this polish wasn't great.. I can't expect much from a polish made by a clothing store and that costs $3 though. It wasn't overly thick, but once applied on the nail it didn't self level and looked very lumpy and bumpy. :/ Seche Vite top coat helped to level it out a bit though.
I also used BYS stripers in White & Black (I really need a new white one, its super goopy!) and NYC - Lemon.

Here's hoping I feel better soon so I can have a bunch more posts for you. :) I'm thinking of doing some swatch comparisons of some cheap Aussie brands vs. more expensive brands. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Sorry for the crappy quality of my photos by the way. I only had my bedside lamp to use for lighting. :(

"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge!

I am so excited for this! :D That's right, I'm participating in another challenge!

Bec @ Lacquer Dreams, an awesome fellow Aussie blogger, has started a Halloween nail challenge for October! :D (I may shorten it to '"TIH"NAC', like I did for the 31 Day Challenge (31DC) though "TIH"NAC kinda looks stupid. LOL. I'll come up with something).

In Aus, Halloween isn't really a 'holiday' or anything big. Some kids go Trick or Treating and dress up but not a lot. We do get some novelty stuff in stores around Halloween time though. My siblings like to go Trick or Treating but they don't really come back with a whole lot of stuff because it's not very big here so people aren't prepared with food to give out to the kids. :P It would be cool to experience Halloween in the US though!

Anyway, even though we don't celebrate it, it's a super fun opportunity for a challenge! :D
I loved the 31 Day Challenge because it got me thinking of mani ideas and got me in a routine of blogging every day! This challenge is only twice a week (except for in the last few days of the challenge) so it should be much less demanding. :)

I believe the challenge is open to anyone, in any country so feel free to join in with us! :) You can go HERE to read Bec's post about the challenge and HERE to see her other post, and you can comment there if you'd like to join us in the challenge and Bec can email you the Inlinkz code.

I think this is going to be really fun! Not sure if I'll be sick of Halloween manis by the end of the month though. :P

31DC2012: Day 29 - Inspired by the Supernatural

Hello girlies. My sickness just keeps getting worse. :( But I don't want to fall behind too much in the challenge! Plus I'm so bored and I have to do SOMETHING. The last couple days for the 31 Day Challenge will be very simple manis unfortunately. :( It really sucks.

So today's theme is "Inspired by the Supernatural". What I chose isn't exactly supernatural... I think it fits more into "fantasy", but oh well. ;)
I chose a really simple Harry Potter inspired mani! And yes, yet again I used a tutorial. But I really did not have enough energy to come up with something of my own lol.

Here is the video tutorial I used, by missglamorazzi on YouTube:

For my base on my index and ring fingers, I used NYC - Lemon. For the base on my middle finger I used OPI - Swimsuit Nailed It and on my pinky I used OPI - Cuckoo For This Colour! For the base on my thumb I used Ulta3 - Black Satin. (I chose not to show my thumb, as I had to patch it today and I haven't buffed it out enough, and it looked horrible and bumpy in photos. On my thumb I had a gold sparkly lightning bolt.)
I also used Ulta3 - English Rose, Ulta3 - Antique Copper, Sally Hansen - Celeb City and BYS stripers in Black, Gold glitter and Silver glitter.

This was SO simple to do and only took 20 minutes max, which is pretty perfect for me right now because I can't concentrate for too long and I keep having coughing fits! :(

I'm hoping I'll be feeling a bit better tomorrow! The 31 Day Challenge is almost over! I'm sorry this post was probably all over the place. :(

31DC2012: Day 28 - Inspired by a Flag

Hey! Please excuse me if today's post is all over the place or is short. I have some crappy sickness and I feel horrible right now. :( I don't even feel like painting my nails! Can you believe it!?!?! :( But I am really excited to show you today's nails so I will soldier on!

Today's theme is 'Inspired by a Flag', so of course I did the Aussie flag! :D I actually used the small amount of creativity I have to come up with most of this mani on my own! ;) I used a tutorial for one nail.

My stars are less than perfect, LOL, but I looove the way my mani turned out! :)
For the blue on all my nails except my pointer, I used Ulta3 - Blue Marlin. I actually used all the same colours in today's mani as I used yesterday! Haha!
I also used Sally Hansen - Whirlwind White, Ulta3 - Lily White, Butter London - Pillar Box Red and China Glaze - Ring in the Red.

I used a tutorial by The Nailasaurus to do the Union Jack on my pointer. It was really easy and I am so pleased with how it turned out. :)

I am a proud Aussie! :D I'll definitely do this nail art again for Australia Day next year!

31DC2012: Day 27 - Inspired by Artwork

I cheated a little with today's nails. ;) Hehe! I decided that nail art is technically artwork so I was inspired by yet another YouTube tutorial. :)

I watched this nautical nail art tutorial video by CutePolish on YouTube and decided this should be pretty quick and easy to recreate. I was wrong. :)

Video by Cutepolish on YouTube

On my thumb, pointer, middle and pinky I used Sally Hansen - Whirlwind White for the base, and Butter London - Pillar Box Red for the stripes. On my ring finger I used a base of Ulta3 - Blue Marlin and a white striper for the anchor.

I underestimated how hard it would be to do perfect, or even decent, stripes! From a distance they look alright, but up close, not so much. :P I'd like to get some striping tape so that I can do perfect stripes though!

I'm also trying out the Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat again. I tried it a while back but I forgot how it works. Now I would NOT recommend this top coat for nail art. It totally smudged my lines! :( I ended up sort of "floating" the brush over my nail once I realised that it would smudge my nails. Floating the brush is where you load up the brush with top coat, and then brush it over the nail, without actually touching the nail. It's kinda hard to explain but hopefully you understand what I mean. :) Insta Dri is pretty fast drying, not as fast as Seche Vite (because really, nothing compares to it), but I will use it for my regular manis. :) I also would probably wait at least an hour before going to bed or something after using Insta Dri, whereas with Seche Vite I can go to sleep 20 minutes after using it and not ruin my nails at all.

Can't wait for the mani I have to show you tomorrow! :D

31DC2012: Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern

Hey there girlies! :)

Today my nails are again, inspired by a tutorial. I know, another look that was inspired by a tutorial. But lately I've only been getting inspired by nail tutorials (which is where I see most nail art on YouTube) so yeah. But hey, that means I can share the video I used and you can try it too. :D

Today's mani was inspired by MissJenFabulous again! Her nails are just awesome though so how can I not want to recreate all of her nail tutorials!? :) Jen's looks much better than mine though! I also didn't use tape like she did, I just freehanded the black section.

I think this one is Jen's most recent nail tutorial! Argyle print! When I saw the title, I was like "what on earth is argyle print?" :P But I've definitely seen it before. You might have seen it on socks or something, if you don't know what it is.

Polishes used:
  • China Glaze - Dance Baby
  • Sally Hansen - Celeb City
  • Ulta3 - Black Satin
  • BYS White striper
Hope you enjoyed this cool preppy mani! ;)

31DC2012: Day 25 - Inspired by Fashion

I had a hard time coming up with something for today's nails. I'm not really into fashion and don't keep up with the latest 'trends'.
But I remembered seeing this post by Jen @ Polish and Pearls and thought it'd be fun to try out. :) I've been seeing this Ikat print on a lot of girls' nails but to be honest I've never seen it on clothing, even though Jen said in her video tutorial that she's seen it everywhere!

This nail art is suuuuuper easy to create, but Jen's looks so much better than mine turned out!

For the base colour I used Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue (an AWESOME colour, get your hands on it if you can!), and I also used White and Black BYS stripers, and China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy.

Hope you like it!

31DC2012: Day 24 - Inspired by a Book

Every girl out there should know what these nails are inspired by. ;) And if you haven't, HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK?! :P

I saw BrieBrie do Burn Book nails, so I did Burn Book nails. ;)

YES it's the Burn Book from Mean Girls! Fellow Aussie, Brie, did an amazing tutorial on Instagram and I knew I HAD to do it for "Inspired by a Book"! Perfect! :D Tons of my manis lately have been inspired by Brie! Her nails are gorgeous. :) If you aren't following her on Instagram already, get on it! :D
Beware, this post includes many photos with a super awkward hand pose in order to show my thumb in the photo.

For my base colour I used Rimmel London - Hot Shot. My bottle is getting low (the bottles are quite small, and it's my go to hot pink polish) so it's kinda thick and getting bubbly. :( I also used Ulta3 - Lily White, Black Satin and Butter London - Pillar Box Red for the lips on my thumb (not sure if you can see that in my photos since it kinda blends in with the pink base). I also used Black and White BY stripers.

This was surprisingly easy to do but my impatient-ness caused me to smudge a couple nails with my top coat. :(

My sister was a meanie and said this mani looks crap. She's like my worst critic. She said the colour didn't accurately match the Burn Book and that it was a shade lighter. Oh jeez. Hahah. By the way, she's 12. LOL!

31DC2012: Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie

I could think of a bunch of ideas for "Inspired by a Movie"! I will probably make a list of them and maybe do a series or something! :) Let me know if you'd like to see something like that!

I decided to do a mani I've wanted to try for a while now! Actually maybe 5 months! Wow haha. Its not exactly inspired by a movie, but inspired by someone's nails in a movie! Have you guessed yet? :)

Effie Trinket inspired nails from The Hunger Games! Super easy to do and really pretty! I'm loving gradients right now!

I'm gonna be honest. I'm not like 99% of the population; I haven't read any of The Hunger Games books. Even my boyfriend started it (and never finished it)! Haha! But I have seen the movie. And I have to be honest again, and say that it wasn't as good as I expected it would be. Everyone hyped it up so much and it just didn't live up to it! Maybe because I didn't read the book but I don't know...

Anyway Effie Trinket in the movie had some crazy awesome nails and I wanted to try this design for myself!

I used Revlon ColorStay - Rich Raspberry, a gorgeous berry colour, as the name would suggest, for the base. I think in The Hunger Games the base is a darker berry colour but this was the closest colour I had!
I then sponged on MaxFactor - Ivory. I got this polish for only $0.50 when MF was on sale at Big W a few months ago! :D I wouldn't wear a colour like this as a full mani because I'm not into metallics or anything but it looks good for this look! :)
I then used a thin coat of a sparse small gold glitter polish called Disco Diva by NYC, over the whole nail. I think you can also find NYC at Big W and some supermarkets. I'm pretty sure NYC is made by the same people who make Ulta3 because the bottles are the same.

I really like this look a lot! It's gorgeous!
Let me know if you'd be interested in me doing a movie inspired series on my blog in the near future! :)
