Color Club - Blue Heaven - Mission Untrieds #13

Gosh. Can you BELIEVE this had been in my untried basket for so long?! I'm guessing about two months. I should have put it on the second I received it!
I actually counted my untrieds today... I have roughly 70 polishes I haven't tried yet. LOL. Just know you'll be seeing these untried posts for a while to come hahaha.

This is Color Club's Blue Heaven from the 2012 Halo Hues collection. This is the only one I have from either of the Halo Hues collections and I definitely need more. This is INCREDIBLE! The holo shows up even in low lighting which makes me love it so much because other holos look ugly unless in the sun!

Pictures show 2 coats (over my regular base coat - Revlon Colorstay - you don't need to use a special base coat with these) and 1 coat of the Revlon Colorstay top coat. Top coat doesn't dull these holos! I thought they did when I first applied my top coat but once the top coat dried it went back to normal. :)

Aussie Nails Monday 26/11 Weather

Hey guys! Sorry I didn't post over the weekend! Hope you had a great one. I had a couple posts planned but I was feeling pretty average all weekend. Had a terrible headache for most of Saturday and then yesterday I developed a cold! :( Boooo.
In other news, today is 3 months till my 20th birthday! Woohoo! (Yep, I'm only 19 lol. I feel like a baby sometimes lol)
Anywho, onto the reason I'm sure you're here - POLISH. :D

For today's Aussie Nails Monday, the theme is 'Weather'. I thought this was a pretty unique theme and can be interpreted in many ways. :)
I chose to do some nail art (I use that term loosely) with neons because in a few days it'll technically be SUMMER here! Woohoo! Towards the beginning of this month we had some pretty hot weather though so it already felt like summer for a while there! But then the weather got a bit chilly again. :( Haha.

I used mostly Ulta3 polishes for this! I don't own many neons but for some reason, I think all but one or two of the neons I do own are Ulta3!
For the base colour I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Whirlwind White, which I really need a new bottle of because mine is almost done and is thick and bubbly. :(
For the splatter I used Ulta3 Fruit Tingle (pink), Ulta3 Citrus (yellow) and Color Club Age Of Aquarius (aqua/turquoise). I used a straw to create the effect by blowing the nail polish onto my nail but I didn't really find this technique easy. Let me know if you know of a more effective way to create this look! I taped off my fingers so I wouldn't have too much cleanup to do, but really it still ended up really messy. :( lol.

I think this looks so cool! I will definitely be rocking this again in summer. :D

Color Club - Wild At Heart

Hey guys! Hope you're having a great week!
The polish I have to show you today is draw-dropping-ly GORGEOUS! :D

This is Color Club - Wild At Heart which is from Color Club's Fall 2009 collection, but I'm pretty sure it's in their regular line now because I only got it a couple months ago. Wild At Heart is a beautiful deep (but not dark) purple subtle holographic! I believe their are "dud" versions of this polish that aren't holo going around, but I have never seen a swatch of one. My version looks just like Scrangie's, so I'll judge it on that and say that mine isn't a dud. :) This polish is not meant to be crazy holographic like the Nfu Oh or the new Color Club holos are, it's subtle but so beautiful.

Wild At Heart is crazy pigmented! It's opaque in ONE coat! I used two out of habit though, hehe. And I added one coat of Essie Good to Go top coat. I don't think this dulled the holo, but I'm not entirely sure...

Do you own any Color Club holos? Or any holos in general? Which are your favourites? :)

Color Club - Fashion Addict

Hey guys!
Hope you're having a great week(end) so far! :) I hope I am! (I'm scheduling this post, hehe).

I have a polish to show you that I wore last weekend. Yeah, I'm a little behind on showing you my NOTDs!
This polish was sent to me by Jeannette from Instagram! It was on my wish list for a long time and I finally have it! :) Thanks Jeannette!

Color Club Fashion Addict is a muted light pink/purple holographic! The holo effect is subtle, at least my bottle is anyway. This polish is more holographic than my photos would capture but it's not a crazy holo like you might get with a Jade or Layla polish. It's subtle but it's there! :)

I'm wearing two coats with base and top coat. I'm not sure how it would've looked if I hadn't used a base and top coat... But I did my mani late at night so I wanted to use a fast dry top coat. Fashion Addict was much thicker than I'd expected it to be! Every other holographic polish I've used is quite thin in formula and sheer but this only required 2 coats to be opaque!

A blurry shot to show the holo a bit better
I have a couple other holographics by Color Club that I can't wait to try!

Have a great day!

31DC2012: Day 20 - Water Marble

Dear whoever came up with this challenge,
I hate you.
LOL. No but I wish this one wasn't a part of the challenge.
This has to be the hardest nails I've ever done and the most ANNOYING. It took me about 4 tries to get this to work. And I don't even like the result too much. :(
I actually did this like 5 days ahead of time because I knew it was going to be seriously difficult; I didn't want to find myself struggling to do this and not be able to get a post up in time! Well I actually do most of my manis at least one day before I post them. ;) Shh don't tell anyone.

I have to apologise in advance for the appearance of my cuticles and skin around my nails.. Looking at the pictures right now I'm contemplating not uploading them but please please try to look at the nails and not at the surrounding skin. I know it's really disappointing to see polish on the skin on blogs but please forgive that! I think I'll just upload one photo to spare you. I didn't notice that you could still see the polish around my skin in the photos; I thought I got it all! :(

Water marbling is so annoying, messy and just ARGHHH. I'm so jealous of girls who can do it well with minimal mess and beautiful designs. I don't have enough patience to keep trying with this so I just gave up and left it as it was. I'd been trying for maybe 4 hours before it worked. As you can see, my middle finger looks... not so nice. But I redid that nail like 3 times and I was so over it! :(

I had a lot of trouble getting my polish to spread. I ended up just letting it not spread. LOL. So the rings didn't spread very much but I just worked with it.
I can't give you any good tips because I did not have much luck with this.

Polishes used were:
Base of Ulta3 - Lilac Bloom, then I did the design with Ulta3 - Lilac Bloom, Zoya - Dannii and Color Club - Wild at Heart.

I really don't think I'll be trying this again any time soon. Way too messy and annoying. I ended up with polish under the free edge of all my nails and it was impossible to remove. :( I can't stand having leftover polish around my nails once I've removed my mani.

I'd like to thank all of my 60 followers! :D It means so much to me that even 5 or 10 girls would want to read my blog! 60 is awesome! Thank you so much for all your sweet comments too, sorry that I don't always get back to them!
My blog has also had almost 10,000 hits! That is insane!!!! :) So cool! :D Thank you to each and every one of my awesome readers! :)

31DC012: Day 11 - Polka Dots

Hello again! :) I'm loving this 31 Day Challenge, it's really getting me into the habit of blogging everyday, or at least having a post scheduled for every day!

Today's theme is polka dots. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for today's theme because I'm not totally fond of polka dot manicures. I'm not really sure why. And I'm not too fond of what I came up with either. But here it is!

I used two polishes that are new in my collection! :)
As my base I used Sally Hansen - Lacey Lilac, which the lovely Natalie on Instagram sent to me! I've wanted this pretty lilac for ages and I am so glad that I have it now! Thank you Natalie! :) This colour is supposed to be similar to OPI - Rumples Wiggin which I wanted when I first got into polish but it was hard to find by then. :( From swatches I've seen, this is a tad darker than Rumples Wiggin but it's still really pretty.
And for the dots I used Color Club - Wild at Heart, a beautiful deep purple HOLO! <3 I bought this on Sunday at the Royal Adelaide Show, along with 6 other polishes you'll probably be seeing very soon! 5 of the 7 I bought have been on my wish list for too long!

I used a large dotting tool for the dots. You can buy a set of dotting tools for only a few dollars from eBay.
I wish I'd used a small dotting tool for this mani, I don't really like the large dots. :( But they're holo dots, so that makes them a bit better. ;)
I WISH I got some photos of this in the sunlight because my photos don't really capture the holographic-ness very well, actually you can barely even tell they're holo! The holo effect was much more visible in person!

I'm not sure I'd do a mani like this again. I'm just not crazy about it. And it's kinda hard to get the dots perfectly spaced apart and all the same size on the nail.

I don't know if you can tell, but I chipped the corner of a nail while doing this mani. :( I actually just filed my nails down SUPER short because I couldn't stand the look of a huge chip on the corner! You'll be seeing two more posts with my nails at this length and then you'll see the little baby nails.
