Polyvore Collage Day: Black & Gold

Hey girls. I forgot to do my collage for the Polyvore Collage Day once again. My bad! ;)

I'm not sure if anyone saw it, but a post got automatically published from my Polyvore account when I imported a photo for the collage. :/ So uh, sorry if you saw that. It was weird. Haha. I might remove my Blogger account from Polyvore because that's not the first time that's happened!

So the theme for this week was "Black & Gold". I wasn't too sure what I should post... But I came up with something. :)

I chose to show you some of my favourite polishes, along with some that I'm lemming. Actually, I only own one of these. HA!

black and gold

TOP L-R:
Revlon Scandalous (aka Facets of Fuchsia). It's very annoying that Revlon changed the name of this polish. It confused a lot of people. This is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann - Bad Romance. It's a black jelly base with fuchsia glitters!
Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers. Kind of the same idea as Revlon Scandalous. This is a black jelly base with red glitters. Oh how I wish I owned this one!
Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow. This is a lot of different sized gold glitters in a clear base. I own a dupe for this one from Essence, called Make it Golden and it is super pretty. :)
Deborah Lippmann Forget You. This polish is Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday, but in a black jelly base.

BOTTOM L-R:
Butter London The Black Knight. This polish is another black jelly base with a ton of different coloured micro glitter. Very pretty but I have tried to dupe this myself. ;)
OPI Rising Star. This is a discontinued OPI shade from the Burlesque collection from 2010. I wishhhh I owned it. It's more of a copper than gold but in some swatches it leans very gold. It's a foil finish and looks amazing. I don't really like straight up gold polishes on my skin tone, which is why I haven't included any straight gold colours.

Sorry this post isn't very wordy. I'm typing it at 2am. x)

Polyvore Collage Days: Favourite Character From a TV Show

Hello again! So silly me forgot to do my post on Sunday for the Polyvore Collage Days! It's okay I'm sick. x)

So the theme is Favourite Character From a TV Show. I watch a lot of TV shows (or I used to... I have fallen behind on a LOT of shows I used to watch... Like seasons behind!) but my ALL time favourite is The OC. Considering some of the themes in the show, I can't believe I got hooked on it when I was only 11 (that's when it started airing in Australia). I will never ever ever get sick of The OC.
Anyway, my favourite character is Marissa Cooper! I was so sad that she left at the end of season 3. The show was definitely not the same without her in season 4, but season 4 is actually probably my favourite season. Weird LOL.
So I thought that I would pick out some polishes that Marissa would probably wear! :D I can't actually remember any time where I've seen Marissa's nails or paid enough attention to see what she's wearing but here's what I think she would wear on her nails! (I may not do a collage about polish every week, depending on what the theme is).
Marissa has a very classic, feminine style. So I think that would translate to her nails too.

Top L-R:

  • Essie - Lady Like. I featured this in last week's post too! My favourite mauve-y nude sort of shade. <3
  • Butter London - Pink Ribbon. A pretty french manicure colour.
  • China Glaze - Innocence. Another jelly-ish french manicure colour.
  • OPI - Sweet Heart. A really nice pink-y nude.
  • OPI - Big Apple Red. Classic red!
Bottom L-R:
  • Essie - Neo Whimsical. Very pastel, muted purple-y pink.
  • Essie - Topless and Barefoot. Another pretty nude.
  • Essie - Vanity Fairest. A subtle french manicure shade with a subtle shimmer.
  • OPI - Black Onyx. A black creme that I could definitely see Marissa wearing in season 3 when she starts to dress more "edgy".
  • Essie - Sugar Daddy. Sheer pink.

Polyvore Collage Day: Autumn

Hey girlies! Today I read on Lacquer Buzz about the "Polyvore Collage Day" started by The Treasure Chest! :) You can read her main post about it here. I thought I'd join because it sounds like fun!

The first theme for this is 'Autumn'. It's not Autumn here right now, it's Spring but I love Autumn polishes so who cares. :D Like I've said before, I'm feeling very confused about the seasons right now because of all the Autumn colours I'm seeing coming out in new collections and on my friends' nails! :P I feel like wearing vampy dark colours! But hey it's still pretty cold here. ;)

I don't own all of these shades but they're all very trendy for Autumn, or they're just colours I love for the season! :)

Top L-R:

  • OPI - Berlin There Done That from the Fall 2012 collection. This polish is a nude-taupe-ish shade. I only want a few from the Germany collection & this is one of them! It's along the lines of OPI - You Don't Know Jacques (another great Autumn colour!) but it's lighter.
  • Revlon ColorStay - Midnight. I loooove this polish. I just took it off my nails earlier today actually. It's an awesome dark teal colour. It's basically opaque in one coat and the formula is so nice. I really like the Revlon ColorStay polishes.
  • China Glaze - Purrfect Plum. I am looooving dark, vampy plum/berry colours right now. <3 Sooo gorgeous for Autumn. This is from the Fall 2012 Safari collection.
  • Butter London - Pillar Box Red. Any red creme polish is a must have for Autumn! I got this Butter London polish free with InStyle magazine a couple weeks ago! :D The prices of everything are inflated crazily here but sometimes we get cool deals. :) This red is probably a bit too bright for Autumn but any red is pretty and classic.
  • OPI - Every Month is Oktoberfest, from the Germany collection. You need to Google swatches of this polish. This is my #1 must have from the Germany collection. Well, number one on my wish list. I don't have it yet. :( But I WILL. It is freaking gorgeous. Really vampy and duochrome-ish.
BOTTOM L-R:
  • China Glaze - Exotic Encounters, from the Safari collection. Such a lovely muted green shade. Very nice for Autumn!
  • Butter London - Wallis. I believe this one came out this time last year. I bought it about 3 months ago (yep... I paid RRP... Don't ask how much that was :P) and haven't worn it. :O How crazy am I!? Haha. I must wear it soon before the weather gets warm. I'd feel weird wearing this one in Summer. But it is soooo nice. Sort of an "ugly/pretty" colour. ;)
  • OPI - Russian Navy. Super classic OPI colour from the permanent line. I have a mini bottle of this one and I'm halfway through it! Need to get a full size. :( It's so lovely. A deep navy with blue and purple shimmer.
  • Essie - Lady Like from the Fall 2011 collection. This is one of my ALL TIME fave polishes! :D I had a mini and I bought a full size a few months ago because I love it! :) It's a very pretty mauvey-pink colour that can almost look like a nude in low lighting.
  • Essie - Mesmerized. Bright royal/cobalt blue! :) Blues like this are super popular and trendy right now! I don't own this particular one but I've seen it on other girls and it looks gorgeous.
So those are my Autumn polish picks! :) Hope you enjoyed. I will hopefully be continuing these Polyvore Collage Day posts. :)
