Goodbye Lissa's Polish Addiction ?!

Today I say farewell to Lissa's Polish Addiction... And hello to TEN LITTLE NUBS!
That's right, I'm starting a whole new nail blog.
I had been thinking about changing the name of my blog, but wasn't sure. I hadn't really liked 'Lissa's Polish Addiction' since the beginning so I decided it was now or never! ;) Kinda scary but I'm excited.

So I will be posting basically the same stuff as what I post here, but I just really wanted a fresh start under a new name & URL. So I'm not going away or anything - just moving!

I also have a new Twitter and Instagram accounts so please follow my new ones to stay updated. Please be aware though, I will not be posting only nails on this Instagram account so if you're only inrerested in seeing nails, best not to follow me. ;)
I will be keeping my current YouTube channel, however so no need to unsubscribe, I will still be posting videos there. ^_^

So I hope to see you over at my new blog, Ten Little Nubs! :)
My first 'proper' nail post is already up, along with an introduction post with a little more info if you're interested.
Here's a little sneak peek of my first post. ;)

In the coming week or so on Ten Little Nubs I will also be having some guest posts by some AWESOME ladies & some of my favourite bloggers so keep your eyes out for that! :)

I also have a cool giveaway planned in the near future, just sayin'. ;)

Love you guys! Thanks to each and every one of you for everything ♥

Loki's Lacquer - Good News Everybody!

Hey guys! First of all I just wanted to say thank you SO much, because I hit 250 GFC followers yesterday! ^_^ I'm so thankful for every single person who reads my blog, even if there were only 5 of you I'd still be so happy. Thank you for all your lovely comments too! ♥ I also hit 123 followers on BlogLovin'! Thank you so much guys :)

Today I'll be showing you my first polish by Aussie indie brand Loki's Lacquer! I've wanted to try Tara's polishes for a while :) She recently came out with an awesome Futurama collection and she also has a cute Easter collection out right now.
Loki's Lacquer Good News Everybody!
Good News Everybody! is a minty green base with a subtle blue shimmer through it. It also has white mint green and teal glitters in it.
This is 3 coats + top coat.
I would probably use this over a mint green or something next time because it was a bit patchy and at 3 coats it was a wee bit thick.
The square mini bottles Tara uses are SOOO cute too, eep! ^_^
I definitely suggest you check out Tara's Etsy shop :D She has some really unique polishes!

Also, I just wanted to let you guys know about my Facebook page. I don't really update it a lot at the moment, I mostly just post pictures and a link to each blog post (some days I forget, though lol) but I'd love to update it more. I update Twitter and Instagram A LOT but I know that some people don't use those.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have through my Facebook page and even send me pics of your manis! Even if it has nothing to do with mine, I would love to see your photos. :)

Have a great day ♥

Smitten Polish - Hocus Pocus

Hey guys! I've gotten some EPIC nail mail in the past week or so! So I have a lot of exciting things to show you! :D I squashed a LOT of lemmings lately. I'm so excited!
This is Smitten Polish Hocus Pocus! I don't really know a lot about the brand Smitten Polish but I saw this polish on Teneil and it blew me away.
Hocus Pocus is a bright purple jelly base packed with purple microglitter as well as holographic glitter.
I'm wearing 3 coats + Seche Vite top coat.
I did have to colour correct these photos so I hope they look okay. They turned out super blue on my camera haha.

How To Remove Glitter Polish - Lacquerheads Of Oz

Hey guys! Just a quick post to let you know that today I'm on Lacquerheads Of Oz! This is my first post on the blog & I'm so excited. :)
I'm sure we've all been frustrated at some point with removing glitter nail polish. So today on the Lacquerheads blog, I bring you a tutorial on the Foil Method
This is the only method I use to remove glitter polish these days because it's so quick and easy!
So head over to the blog and check it out, and check out the other posts too! There's some seriously awesome info and tips on this blog and way more to come. It's really exciting to be a part of it!

I actually also have a video on this on my YouTube channel if you're interested in seeing this in video form. :)

Hope you enjoyed & I really hope it helps you! :) You can all go and enjoy some super sparkly nails. ;)

Ombre - Aussie Nails Monday 18/3

Hey guys! Today I'm back with Aussie Nails Monday! :) I haven't participated in ANM for about 3 weeks now so it was about time I stopped being lazy hehe.
Today's theme is Ombre. Now, as far as I understand, an ombre manicure and a gradient are not the same thing. You can read all about that in THIS POST by Jeanette/The Swatchaholic. :) She does a fabulous job at explaining and demonstrating the differences! You could probably also say these are Skittle nails.
PS. Sorry, the photos in this post were taken outdoors rather than in my lightbox. Didn't have my lightbox handy at the time and then the weather was crappy. :( Anywho hope that doesn't bother you.

So I had a little bit of a hard time choosing what colour I would do for my ombre because I was like "do I even own enough shades of the same colour to do that?!"... Of course you do Elissa! :P
I chose blue because I'd have to say, I own a LOT of blues.

The colours I used were (from darkest-lightest):
Essence Date In The Moonlight
China Glaze First Mate
China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le
Ulta3 Pro Sky Blue
Essie Borrowed And Blue
All are creme colours except for Essence Date In The Moonlight, which is a very dark navy base with a lighter blue subtle shimmer.
Have you ever done ombre nails before? :) I really like it!

Femme Fatale - Abyssal Reflections

Hey guys! I have another Femme Fatale polish to show you today! :)
This is Abyssal Reflections. And again it's so beautiful that I can't even describe it soooo I've taken the description from the Femme Fatale site again.
"Abyssal Reflections is a glitter polish created to resemble the dark depths of the ocean. It’s a deep sea green jelly packed full of turquoise, teal and green with flashes of holo; and is best worn over a darker base colour." [Source]
Today is actually St Patrick's Day and I didn't even mean to be wearing green(ish) nails! They're more teal than green to me but still green okay. ;)
I layered 2 coats of Abyssal Reflections over China Glaze Watermelon Rind which is a teal-ish green with a glass fleck finish.
Also, $5 from every purchase of Abyssal Reflections (or Sparkling Sands or Veil Of The Siren) will be donated to Sophie's friend who needs surgery.

Hope you've had a fab weekend! ♥

Jasmine - Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge - Day 1

Hey guys! I'm really excited about today's post! Bec from LacquerDreams created a Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge and when I saw it, I was like HECK YEAH. I'm a big Disney fan :D Most of my friends definitely know this about me! My mum even gave me a Tinkerbell card for my 20th birthday this year. ;)
(Jasmine PSD Source)
Let me just say - I hate the Urban Outfitters bottles. They are SO awkward for photos...

So today's theme is Jasmine, from Aladdin! I have to admit I don't remember being a big fan of Aladdin when I was little. I actually don't remember watching it more than once...

As soon as I saw that today's theme was Jasmine, I remembered I had seen this mani by Yvonne / Lafemmelulu on Instagram, a few months ago and it TOTALLY reminds me of Jasmine! So I decided to do something similar to this :)

For this nail art I used Urban Outfitters Sea Dust and China Glaze Passion, with a coat of Essence Sweet As Candy as my base. I started off using striping tape to try and get cleaner lines but gave up because I couldn't be bothered waiting for the layers to dry, honestly. :P
I hope you're looking forward to the rest of this challenge - I sure am! :D It also makes me want to re-watch all of these Disney movies! I might need to for inspiration for some of them! Hehe.

Also - don't forget to follow me on BlogLovin' if you haven't already! Check out yesterday's post on Google Reader getting the boot and other ways you can follow me. :)
Hope you're having a fantastic weekend! ♥
Please check out the other awesome ladies participating in this challenge ♥

Other Ways To Follow Me ♥ Important! Please Read!

Hey guys! I read somewhere today that "Google Reader" is being shut down soon. I don't know a lot about it, other than that it's a way to follow blogs(?). I'm not sure if anyone follows my blog via Google Reader and I don't think that GFC (Google Friend Connect) is the same thing, but if it IS, and in fact gets the boot soon too, I would HATE for you to miss out on my posts! :(

My recommendation is BlogLovin'. This is the site (and iPhone app) that I use to follow blogs. It's so easy to use, I love it! I really recommend you try it if you want an easy way to follow all the blogs you love to read. :) I'm pretty sure you can follow any blog through BlogLovin if you just search for their blog address.

Click the button below to follow me via BlogLovin. :)
Follow on Bloglovin
I've been getting a lot of new followers via BlogLovin over the past 24 hours or so, I'm guessing due to this Google thing so thanks guys!

In addition, you can also keep up with me on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. :) Follow me and don't hesitate to talk to me! :D I love getting comments, tweets etc from you, it's awesome.
You can also email me at any time if you just want to chat, or have any questions for me, so feel free! :D

Femme Fatale - Eventide

Hey guys! So my last few posts have just been swatches but today I'm going to show you a recent NOTD. :) I did cut my nails off shorter and I was planning on not showing you them for a couple weeks until they grew out a bit but I fell in love with this polish I have to show you today.
In this post I'll show you pics taken in the light box as well as outside. I've only been using my light box lately but this polish looks amazing outside so I had to include some outdoor photos :) It might be a bit pic heavy so brace yourself! ;)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Eventide
Now since I cannot for the life of me describe this beauty, I took the description from Femme Fatale.
"Eventide is a blend of delicate but complimentary shades – lime gold, rose, fuchsia flecks, gold, holo, sea green and moss, all in a clear base"
See, I would've sucked at describing it. I would've just said gold and pink glitter. :P
I layered 2 dabbed coats of Eventide over OPI Just Spotted The Lizard and 2 coats of top coat to smooth it out.

This combo was definitely BLING BLING on my nails HA! :P I love the huge square glitters in this gorgeous polish. ♥
Do you own any Femme Fatale polishes?! If so, which ones? I think they're incredible!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, ladies. :)

Femme Fatale Lacquer - Formally Invited

Hey lovelies! I have another swatch for you today. :)
This is from indie brand Femme Fatale Lacquer. I bought this in October, I think and it took me this long to try it. lol!

Femme Fatale Lacquer Formally Invited
Formally Invited is a sheer white base with small black glitters. I think it's super cute!
The formula on this was fantastic. Not too thick, not too thin. And even the mini brush was great! I usually hate mini brushes but this was totally fine.
This is 3 coats of Formally Invited + 1 coat of top coat.

This shade is discontinued from Femme Fatale Lacquer I believe, sorry! :( That's what I get for waiting so long to swatch it lol.

Alanna Renee - Reptar

Hey guys! I'm skipping Aussie Nails Monday today, again... lol. I was feeling particularly unspired. Today's a public holiday here today and I'm slightly disappointed about that. :P I was expecting mail today! Darn it. Haha.
Anywho, instead of ANM, I have a quick swatch to show you today from indie brand Alanna Renee! :) So still slightly "Aussie" Nails Monday, right?! Hehe.

Alanna Renee Reptar
Reptar is inspired by the green dinosaur on the Rugrats! I HAD to get this as soon as I saw it. Rugrats was definitely my favourite show when I was little! :D
Reptar has orange and grey-ish lavender hex glitters, and teeny tiny matte green, white and black glitters. I thought the sheer base was green but it's actually more blue. The green glitters make it look like the base is green, though.
This is 2 coats of Reptar + 1 coat of top coat (By the time I finished photographing this, the top coat had dried and the polish felt gritty so it would need another coat of top coat to be smooth).

Check out Alanna's store! And her blog Pretty Purple Polish - she's an awesome blogger. :) Her macro shots are serious to die for.

Were you a Rugrats fan as a child? (Who am I kidding - I'm pretty sure EVERYONE was hahah) I honestly would still watch it now lol! I loved the movies too. xD
What other shows were your favourite as a kid? :D

OPI - Sprung

Hello me lovelies! :) Hope you're having a great weekend!
I have a polish to show you from the OPI Mariah Carey collection. This is the only one I picked up other than the Liquid Sand shades. The other "normal" colours were either too grandma-looking (sorry to all the Grandmas out there...) or I had something too similar.
Ps. Sorry that my "pose" is really weird in these photos... I find OPI bottles so awkward to hold in photos and I'm trying to find a "pose" that is comfortable but still looks normal in photos. Lol I know, how sad that I think so much into it :P

Anyway, this is SprungSprung is a glass fleck finish with a bit of a duochrome to it. It's sort of copper-y, but also rose gold because there's definitely some pink in it.
It's really pretty! I think I'd prefer to wear it more in autumn, though. It seems more of an autumn colour to me. Haha. (Although it's supposed to be autumn now... Hurry up cooler weather!) I'll definitely be sporting this more in the colder months, plus more shades like it! :)
Sprung in the bottle - wish it showed up this duochrome-ish on the nail!
with flash
Did you pick up any of the OPI Mariah Carey collection? :D

Shades Of Phoenix - Chaos Glitter Tips

Hey guys!
Guess what - today, at 9pm AEST, Shades of Phoenix is launching two new colours to her line! I am SUPER excited about this so I can't wait! :D Definitely head on over to her Etsy shop at 9 and get your hands on these beauties. :)

In honour of Teneil's new polishes, I did a mani using one of her old colours! In January I did a glitter tip mani using a different SoP shade and LOVED it so much. So I thought I'd do another!

I used Essence Sweet As Candy as my base just to make my natural nail colour look a bit better haha. Sweet As Candy is a really nice sheer pink that I like to use for manis like this one where you can see some of my natural nail. It's a LITTLE streaky but not too bad, it levels out by itself pretty well.
And then I created my glitter tips with Shades of Phoenix Chaos
Unfortunately this was a LE shade so it's no longer available, sorry! I have a video tutorial on Glitter Gradients which you can see HERE if you're interested!

I love doing glitter tip manis like this. Must find more polishes to do this with! It's really easy and a bit more interesting and flashy than a plain mani. ;)
I can't seem to make the glitter totally cover my tips, though, no matter how much I put on LOL. So yeah, I do realise that you can see my nail through. :P

You can see my first swatches of Teneil's polishes HERE. Be sure to head to her Etsy shop to snatch up her new colours! :) And follow her on Facebook too, she updates very regularly and shows a load of sneak peeks!

I'd love to know your fave SoP shades! Leave me a comment :D
